La storia fantastica è un film fantasy del 1987 diretto da Rob Reiner. Il piccolo Jimmy (Fred Savage), a seguito di una fastidiosa influenza, si trova costretto a rimanere a letto. A fargli compagnia è il nonno, accolto inizialmente con poco entusiasmo dal bambino, che riesce tuttavia a catturare l’attenzione del nipote. L’anziano ha portato con sé un libro speciale al cui interno è racchiuso il racconto fantastico del regno incantato di Florin. Jimmy, si trova quindi catapultato velocemente nella storia della bellissima principessa Bottondoro (Robin Wright) perdutamente innamorata del suo servo Westley
