Si parte dall’assistente virtuale Cortana che non sarà più parte integrante del sistema operativo. Inoltre, punterà sempre più sulle funzionalità business e sempre meno su quelle consumer (niente più controllo delle apparecchiature presenti nella smart home). Previsto poi un restyling per il box visualizzato quando si richiama l’intelligenza artificiale.

Altre novità riguardano il sistema di ricerca. Una, ad esempio, permette di catturare uno screenshot o una porzione di esso da utilizzare come query per trovare informazioni in locale oppure online, ovviamente attraverso Bing.
Ancora, in Gestione Attività vengono indicate informazioni aggiuntive come la tipologia di ogni unità installata (SSD, hard disk, scheda di memoria ecc.) e la temperatura della GPU.

Tra le impostazioni si segnala l’arrivo di un’opzione che consente di richiedere obbligatoriamente l’autenticazione biometrica tramite Windows Hello per il login con un account Microsoft. Di fatto, questo toglie la possibilità di farlo con una password tradizionale. Ancora, la pagina Rete e Internet (sempre tra le impostazioni) è soggetta a un restyling. Altre novità già avvistate nelle release di anteprima riguardano il collegamento con un click ai dispositivi Bluetooth rilevati e l’introduzione delle nuove icone in stile Fluent Design.
