Windows Thin PC è un sistema operativo della Microsoft, basato su Windows 7 Service Pack 1, ma ottimizzato per girare su un hardware meno potente e più vecchio.

Windows Thin PC è una versione destinata ai thin client e ai PC con hardware datato, consentendone di eseguire le operazioni di base, ma implementando anche le funzionalità più recenti e un livello di sicurezza maggiore.

Il software in questione è basato su Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1. Il vecchio Windows FLP (Windows Thin PC può essere definito un successore di Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs) uscito nel 2006 era invece basato su Windows XP. Anche in questo caso, si parla di un prodotto che lavora sia localmente che in remoto.

Windows Thin PC ha dei requisiti di sistema ben inferiori a quanto previsto per Windows 7 e in talune situazioni potrebbe offrire la possibilità di recuperare hardware datato ma comunque valido.

Tra le tecnologie disponibili in WIndows Thin Client di Microsoft c'è da segnalare RemoteFX che rende disponibile il virtual desktop sul client, oltre a BitLocker e AppLocker per la sicurezza di dati e applicazioni.
