My Blu-Ray rips are always taken DIRECTLY from the actual blu-rays, not re-encodings of an earlier h264 torrent, and not "filled in" with web downloads.

This is my h264 2 pass high-quality 1080p version of the full series 1992, the first part of the trilogy 1992-1994, a tale of politics, corruption and violence in Italy during those years.

My blu-ray box set was ripped using DVDFab, and the subtitles were converted SRT using SubtitleEdit 3.5.15

I used x264.exe to create a VBR in 2 passes. I initially set the average bandwidth at around 1900kbps, and also set a maximum quantizer to ensure that the encoder could not reduce the quality on the scenes for which it chose to use less bandwidth effect.

The bandwidth for episode 6 is shown below. The average bitrate is 2,241 kbps but it peaks at 14,185 kbps for scenes where more bitrate is required to encode more motion.

I used the "placebo" preset settings to create the best possible quality video, each episode took several hours to encode each pass.

The audio is AAC 5.1 at 384 kbps.

The English and Italiano subtitles are soft coded into the mkv.
