   The Victors is a 1963 British-American war film written, produced and directed by Carl Foreman, whose name on the film's posters was accompanied by nearby text, "from the man who fired The Guns of Navarone". Shot on location in Western Europe and Britain, The Victors features an all-star cast, with fifteen American and European leading players, including six actresses whose photographs appear on the posters — Melina Mercouri from Greece, Jeanne Moreau from France, Rosanna Schiaffino from Italy, Romy Schneider and Senta Berger from Austria as well as Elke Sommer from West Germany.[2] One of the posters carries the tagline, "The six most exciting women in the world… in the most explosive entertainment ever made!".

  This is a new recode to MKV container of an existing torrent of The Victors by Carl Foreman.   It is not available on DVD though over the years and in many of these forums people have asked that a good DVD or bluRay edition be made.



  Two big World War II films came out about the same time:  The Longest Day and Carl Foreman's The "Victors."  I saw The Longest Day (1962) with dad and the family at a drive in.  I watched "The Victors" as a young man in the theatre alone.  "The Victors" had media criticism when released from the major writers of the period like Pauline Kael.  Foreman's treatment of the war epic is unconventional and a stunning achievement which I never forgot.  I think it's safe to say it is an anti-war epic and the dominant feeling of the director is anger.  For this reason it's my opinion that is the reason The Victors never got the viewing and long time respect it deserves as a classic.   I've sought it out over many years and failed to find VHS, DVD or any other media save for filesharing.  The one you see is the best of only two I've found.
