Na twee nationale sterren was het in 2008 de beurt aan wereldster Lionel Richie.
Lionel veroverde onze harten en raakte ons met zijn charismatische stem en energieke performance.
Met veel vuurwerk, dansers en een razend enthousiast publiek maakte Lionel er een Symphonica in Rosso-waardig spektakel van.
De uitgedoste fans kleurde het GelreDome weer mooi rood, hetgeen zorgde voor een schitterend visueel.
Onder begeleiding van het 40-koppige orkest van Guido's Orchestra bracht hij zijn wereldberoemde hits ten gehore.
Lionel hield de lat van Symphonica in Rosso hoog en bezorgde iedereen een topavond met een ongekende hoogtepunten en een gezellige sfeer.

Lionel Richie ontving de volgende gastartiesten:
Trijntje Oosterhuis, Candy Dulfer, Alain Clark en Dane Clark.

The double-disc live album Symphonica in Rosso documents Lionel Richie's triumphant live performance
at the Gelredome in Arnhem, Netherlands, on September 6, 2008.
The show was a triumph for Richie because he'd scored a Top Five smash hit earlier in the year in the Netherlands
with "Face in the Crowd," a duet with Dutch pop singer Trijntje Oosterhuis from his recent album Just Go (2008).
It was also an honor, for he was taking the stage at one of the Netherlands' premier concert stadiums
and performing in part of a series of Symphonica in Rosso shows that had spawned hit albums
by Dutch superstars Marco Borsato and Paul de Leeuw in past years.
