Media Information
This work corrects the authoring issues that the Defiance Project AI upsamples failed to address. I initially thought to just fix the Defiance projects work and use them as a source as they used an older version of the same software and just posted that output. However at that point the FPS and audio sync issues where baked in and could not be corrected.
I started completely over with the raw DVDs and did a proper de-interlace and conversion to a stable standard 23.977FPS. That was run through the AI software which took a couple of weeks to render the season. Sadly the DVDs have a lot of rainbowing of colors that neither the AI nor my standard filters could address. The end results go from muddy DVDs to pretty bad 1080p. Still much more clarity and detail is gained and the end result is very much improved. We even upsampled and included all the content of the Bonus Features DVD.
