Summary



Autumn 1918. A group of soldiers return from the trenches. The world-weary Benedick and

his friend Claudio find themselves reacquainted with Beatrice and Hero. As memories of

conflict give way to a life of parties and masked balls, Claudio and Hero fall madly,

deeply in love, while Benedick and Beatrice reignite their own altogether more combative

courtship. Set amidst the brittle high spirits of a post-war house party, where youthful

passions run riot, lovers are deceived and happiness is threatened - before peace

ultimately wins out.

My notes



 These plays from RSC are especially noteworthy for the music integrated into the

play set for time place and mood.  I've noted Nigel Hess here as I may have earlier.

Other of these RSC Shakespeare productions which excel in the art of adding music  

include the RSC Twelfth Night which is part of this collection.  I find myself saying

'please one and so please all' just from hearing it.



 This is another in the large group of plays collectively known as Proshot and not

available on the popular torrent sites since Proshot is a magnet file only.  The NFO included in this download

pays reference to it.  I continue to recode the plays in it with better naming smaller size and easier sharing and propagation.
