Greenland, il film diretto da Ric Roman Waugh, segue la storia di Jeff (Gerard Butler) e della sua famiglia, alle prese con un disastro naturale.

Un asteroide soprannominato Clarke, sta per passare molto vicino alla Terra, tanto da essere visibile a occhio nudo. Purtroppo durante il passaggio la cometa si frantumerà in mille pezzi con conseguenze catastrofiche sulla superficie dell'intero pianeta. Diverse città di tutto il mondo saranno infatti rase al suolo. L'impatto di un enorme frammento di roccia provocherà morte e distruzione, destabilizzando interi paesi dal punto di vista politico, sociale ed economico.

In questo clima di panico e confusione l'obiettivo di Jeff sarà quello di portare in salvo sua moglie (Morena Baccarin) e suo figlio (Roger Dale Floyd) verso l'unico posto sicuro, in una lotta contro i tempo...
