The Box of Delights
A now slightly older Kay Harker, on returning from boarding school, finds himself mixed up in a battle to possess a magical box, which allows the owner to go small (shrink) and go swift (fly).
The owner of the box is an old Punch and Judy man called Cole Hawlings, whom Kay meets on a railway station. They have an instant rapport, and this leads Cole to confide that he is being chased by a man called Abner Brown and his gang. For safety, Cole entrusts the box to Kay, this is the start of many adventures. Former Goon, Spike Milligan has a key starring role.
Two 90 minute episodes, I have split each episode into two to make it possible to burn to standard CD. First broadcast in 1978.

The Midnight Folk
A magical tale childhood, adventure and loyalty. It is filled with dark woods and shimmering seas, with smugglers, treasure and evil witches.
Kay Harker lives with his governess in Seekings, a large house which belonged to his dead parents. He discovers that all is not well in the house and its strange community of talking animals and magical helpers.
But it is not until he learns that the governess herself is a leader in a sinister coven of witches and wizards that he begins to realise the danger to his friends and to himself. He is catapulted into a series of nighttime adventures searching for the treasure that his grandfather lost. Two 60 minute episodes, first broadcast on Radio 4 in December 2006.
