Nightmares on Congress Street is a chilling compilation of classic and original tales presented in audio theatre format, complete with music and sound effects. Pieces include the well-known "The Monkey's Paw" and "The Cask of Amontillado", as well as those penned specially for this production, such as "The Cabin in the Woods" by Clay Graybeal and "The Horror of Walker Point" by Anthony Marino (a tribute to Orson Welles' "A War of the Worlds"). The entire production is dedicated to Maine's very own Master of the Macabre, Stephen King.Produced and directed by William Dufris at Mind's Eye Productions.

I listen to a lot of audio drama, but I've seldom heard a compilation production as professional and engaging as this was. Acting, music, sfx and choice of material was amazing. Pieces ranged from chilling to hilarious to tongue-in-cheek to downright spooky. The Monkey's Paw brings back the goosebumps I felt when reading it in high school, while Cask Of Amontillado would make Poe proud. Cabin In The Woods is just... brilliant, and Horror Of Walker Point is virtually a modern "War Of The Worlds-type" piece, being a "live" performance.

Nightmares on Congress St. Pt. IV. is a wonderful production of classic horror tales adapted as radio dramas by a first class audio theater troupe. The writing ranges from good to very good. The adaptations of The Monkey's Paw and the Cask of Amontillado will please any fans of the original stories. The real pleasure of this collection is "The Horror of Walker Point." It is a live performance and meant to be any homage to Orson Welles and George Romero. It is entertaining, well done and thoroughly enjoyable. I recommend this to anybody who likes horror stories or anyone who likes old time radio dramas. This will not disappoint.
