An absolutely magical story about a young boy named Toseland (Tolly), who has been sent to spend his Christmas holidays with his great grandmother while his parents travel to Burma.

Green Knowe is a very old manor house inhabited by Toseland's ancestors, the d'Aulneaux, later Oldknowe or Oldknow since the Norman Conquest. This ancient manor house is full of secrets, ghosts and a curse placed on the Oldknows by a vengeful gypsy in the 19th century.

Tolly encounters three spirits, namely, Toby, Alex and Linnet who lived during the reign of Charles II and died during the Great Plague. As Christmas approaches Tolly draws nearer to their world, and magically, is able to become part of it.

A wonderful touch of creepy moments, unhappy events and unpleasant characters make this a very enjoyable listen.
