Trama :

Il film si apre con un piccolo uccellino chiamato Buster che è sbeffeggiato dei fratelli per essere il più piccolo. Nel tentativo di abbandonare il nido, il piccolo incontra Rex, un intelligente e simpatico Tirannosauro arancione che stava giocando a golf. Buster si confida con il dinosauro spiegandogli che era stufo della famiglia e vuole andare a lavorare in un circo. Rex inizia così a raccontare la sua storia.

Comincia un lungo flashback: nel cretaceo viene mostrato un Rex "feroce e selvaggio" catturato da una gigantesca macchina del tempo volante, nella quale un piccolo essere verde, chiamato Trombetta, gli fa ingerire il Grano Cerebrale, un cereale da colazione che gli infonde l'intelligenza e, di conseguenza, l'amore. Rex fa conoscenza con altri tre dinosauri...
