This is a really great audiobook! Very entertaining. I'm not a boxing fan at all but I like good writing and this is history too. It's a series of essay writtien by A.J. Liebling, one of the great sports writers of the pre-television era. The essays were produced for The New Yorker Magazine--not a sports-friendly publication by any means, but very friendly to literature and great writing. The essays cover the era from shortly after WWII to the mid-1950's and generally center around one fighter and one particular fight. Some of the great names are here like Marciano, Louis and Robinson, but you'll also find out about some great-but-now-little-remembered names from the closing years of the golden age of boxing as well.

As always with my audiobook torrents, there are two complete & unabridged versions of the audiobook to choose from . . . you can choose the mp3 version (each essay is a single file, 22 files in total--m3u file included for your convenience), or you can choose the fully chapterized m4b version for iPod/iPhone, etc. (1 chapterized file with chapter illustrations--NOTE: you will find the photo captions on your iPod chapter menu, along with it's appropriate essay title). Both versions are at 64 kb/s (the same rate as the original files) and are fully tagged (you will find the entire Info.txt, including the complete table of contents, on your lyrics window).
