A tale about a lonely teacher who goes on a painting holiday in Crete and meets a strange American couple. The woman invites him to visit them in their hotel room but "not after midnight," the reason for this becoming clear as the story progresses.


The Old Man

The Old Man follows a family, from the point of view of an old neighbour who keeps an eye on them, and chronicles their tale etc.


The Birds

The story of a farmhand, his family, and his community, who are attacked by flocks of seabirds which have organized themselves into avian suicide warriors.
