This is my naration of this great children's book which was the only book written by the late Stephen Gately. I really believe it's a great book of it's kind, quite old school with flavours of Enid Blyton and Narnier. So while it's a book for children, I think adults would like it too for its nostalgic take on children's literature. I'm not an audio book reader by proffession, but I have done voice over work and it's always been a hobby of mine. I recorded this for my wife who is blind. She wanted to read the book being a Gately fan, but the only accessible version is the kindle download. While the Kindle voice is of course better than nothing, it doesn't bring the book to life and it's hard to concentrate on it. So I made this recording. I don't see how I'm doing anything too bad by sharing it as there is no audio book version and as far as I've been able to find out there's no plans to make one. I think it's a shame that people with sight problems won't get to appreciate this story, so that's why I'm uploading it. I would ask though if you do download it and enjoy it that you consider buying the book as a mark of respect for the author and to ease my conscience.
