Delta blues guitarist Son House (1902-1988) did one of the earliest blues recordings ever - May 28, 1930, in Grafton, Wisconsin, for Paramount Records. So he was an influence for Robert Johnson, who did his famous recordings in 1936 & 1937.
'The Complete Library of Congress Sessions' were recorded by Alan Lomax 1941 and 1942 in Mississippi.
