Our stories of the wilderness have traditionally been told by white men. But in recent decades pioneering women have overcome external and internal obstacles to make their voices heard.

Partnerships between men and women, young and old, black and white, give us a fresh appreciation for the creatures we share this earth with. True collaboration can transform our understanding of the natural world.
