The Magnificent Seven is a 1960 western film directed by John Sturges and starring, among others, Yul Brynner, Eli Wallach, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and James Coburn.



Freely inspired by Akira Kurosawa's film The Seven Samurai, to which Sturges pays homage, the film re-proposes the themes of honor, virile friendship and rejection in the face of the injustice that already Kurosawa had dealt with in his film six years earlier, set in feudal-age Japan.
