Donovan (born Donovan Philips Leitch; 10 May 1946) is a Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist. He developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelia, and world music.

His most successful singles were the early UK hits "Catch the Wind", "Colours" and " Universal Soldier" in 1965. "Sunshine Superman" topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart (number two in Britain), and "Mellow Yellow" reached US number two the following year, with "Hurdy Gurdy Man" in the Top 5 in both countries in 1968.

On 14 April 2012 Donovan was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Donovan, ‘60s legend, icon, poet and one of our most enduring singer-songwriters, is returning this year to mark his 50th year in the music business. This most auspicious anniversary will prompt a major renaissance for the man whose fingerprints can be seen throughout the last half century of popular music.
His 50th anniversary celebration includes the release of a two disc anthology called ‘Donovan Retrospective’ on June 8th, made up of selections from his ‘60s catalog and a brand new reggae-style single ‘One English Summer’.
