ALFAR released their new album entitled "Twilight of the Gods" through Soundage productions.


There's not a lot of information on this band, so I'm mostly piecing this together as best I can from reading between the snippets available.


The first album 'Across the Northern Storms' was a self financed, self produced, full length album, which gained enough plaudits to continue with the project and this time around the album was written, produced and recorded by Dmitry Pinchuk (A one man Viking metal band from Belarus) who had the vision to use the social media 'begging bowl, to request a label contact him regards releasing the album - Twilight Of The Gods. Thankfully that's where the guys at Soundage Productions came in. Liking what they heard, they opted to release the album under the Soundage banner


The 'band' name originates from: Alfar (Old Icelandic for "Elves" were, according to The Poetic Edda and later Sagas of the Icelanders, supernatural land-spirits that would receive offerings and worship. In the Prose Edda, though, their dwelling place, Alfheimr is said to be in the heavens. Historical cult of the Alfar appears to have been especially important in Sweden and South-Eastern Norway. the old Norse god Freyr is the divinity most closely associated with them.
