La serie continuer? la storia del film omonimo del 2014, tuttavia il regista James Gunn ha dichiarato che la serie non ? parte del Marvel Cinematic Universe e non avr? alcun legame con il film o con il sequel.

The series will pick up where the movie left off facing off against Thanos as its major villain. While the International Business Times of Australia reported that initially the show would follow the plot of the movie, getting the characters together then continue on with Ronan the Accuser as the initial villain.
