Lexie was frustrated. Her time on Qetera so far had been exciting yet lonely. She was living at Vulmar's home along with her friend, Hunter, who Vulmar wanted. That left her feeling like the third wheel. Her interests fell to the doctor who lived up on the mothership and who stayed away from her at all costs. Feeling down and out, she and Hunter make a secret trip to the market in the city of Nallume. Their adventure brings her into contact with a dragon's egg. Little does she know that the egg she just bought will change her life forever in more ways than one.

Dr. Jonik wants Lexie but feels as if she deserves better. When her life is in danger, he rushes to her side to save her. To his astonishment, he finds her in the company of a dragon's egg which has been stolen. This leads them on a journey to save her life as well as all the other dragon eggs that have been stolen by unknown thieves. Jonik regrets he hasn't claimed her before now but he has to do everything in his power to save the one woman in all the universe who was created just for him.
