This three-part series explores the Chinese government's national park pilot project that has been especially set up across 10 sites to protect the country's rarest species and delicate ecosystems.
The world's largest conservation project has been created in China. Discover the breathtaking wildlife hidden inside its stunning national parks.


1)  West a Fragile Paradise
In Western China on the vast and remote Qinghai Tibetan plateau, we meet hardy animals including snow leopards and foxes, perfectly adapted to survive the rugged landscapes of the regions three new national parks.

2)  Central a Balancing Act
China's mountainous central region is home to some of the country's most iconic creatures, from pandas to golden snub-nosed monkeys, who are making their home in the safety of its two enchanting national parks.

3)  East: The Last Refuge
China's Eastern region is one of the most densely populated on Earth, but even here people are making space for nature and some of the rarest animals on earth are finding sanctuary in its four new national parks.
