Description

"Neu!" is the debut album by Neu!, released in 1972. Neu! was a German Krautrock band formed by Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother after their split from Kraftwerk in the early 1970s.
The band is retrospectively considered one of the founding fathers of Krautrock and a significant influence on artists including David Bowie, Brian Eno, Iggy Pop, PiL, Joy Division, Gary Numan, Porcupine Tree, Ultravox, Simple Minds, Negativland, Stereolab, Boredoms, Radiohead, the Horrors, Electrelane, Kasabian and much of the current electronic music scene.
Neu!'s debut album was driving music for the apocalypse in 1971. Oddly enough, after a millennial change and a constant stream of samples being taken from it, and its influence saturating both the rock and electronica scenes, it still sounds ahead of its time.
