(1969), featuring guitarist John McLaughlin and organist Larry Young , was one of the first and most influential albums in late-'60s fusion, a double-LP set that shattered the boundaries between jazz and rock, including funk, psychedelic rock, hard bop, blues and free jazz, creating dense, adventurous, unpredictable soundscapes.
