La squadra era guidata dall'allenatore Rusty Russell, anche lui rimasto orfano, che aveva rinunciato a lavorare con dei ragazzini privilegiati per occuparsi dei Mighty Mites.











History of the Mighty Mites, the football team from the Fort Worth orphanage who, during the Wall Street Crash, went from playing without shoes to participating in the Texas leagues. The team was led by coach Rusty Russell, also an orphan, who had given up working with privileged kids to take care of the Mighty Mites.
