Moderat is a contemporary sans serif typeface characterized by a combination of geometric shapes and some edgy accents. The typeface was developed in a collaboration of two graphic design students, Fabian Fohrer and Fabian Huber, with the aim to refinance kd—lounge, a student initiated series of lectures at the University of Applied Science in Constance, Germany, that deals with design and associated disciplines. Previous guests were among others Kurt Weidemann, David Carson, Ruedi Baur, Erich Brechbühl, Götz Gramlich and Sven Lindhorst-Emme.
