The Valley is the sophomore album of Australian singer-songwriter Betty Who. It was officially announced in February 2017, almost three years after her debut studio effort,Take Me When You Go.

In June 2016, Who and long-time collaborator Peter Thomas dropped a standalone cover of “I Love You Always Forever” to hold fans over until her second LP. The track became a sleeper hit for Who, who then chose to include it as part of the tracklist for The Valley. This retroactively made it the record’s first single, with the following releases of singles “Human Touch,” “Some Kinda Wonderful,” “You Can Cry Tomorrow,” and “Mama Say” completing promotion before the album's official release on March 24, 2017.









The tracklist was confirmed on Twitter on March 16 and features songs that showcase Who’s new commitment to being “vulnerable in a sincere and blunt way,” something she says she learned while touring to support her debut LP. “On this album, I implemented something of a rule…All of the songs, except for maybe one or two, can be played at a piano or with a guitar. I can actually sing you the story of the song with everything stripped away. It was so important to me.”
