Note: Downscaled from 4K Blu-ray. This movie was mastered in 2K, so encoding at 2160p won't result in a sharper image. However, colors and contrast are still better than my other 1080p release thanks to HDR.

About AV1: AV1 is a free modern video format developed by the Alliance for Open Media (AOM). It delivers high quality video at lower bitrates than h264 or even h265/HEVC. Unlike HEVC, it can be streamed in common web browsers. It is being adopted by YouTube and Netflix, amongst others.
