Un tranquillo paesino canadese sulle Montagne Rocciose, l'arrivo di una spregiudicata multinazionale del petrolio, e il ritorno di una vecchia e sgradita conoscenza molto difficile da tenere a bada: su Sky Atlantic arriva Tin Star, la serie con protagonista Tim Roth nei panni di Jim Worth, uno sceriffo decisamente singolare. O meglio, uno sceriffo "doppio" per un western contemporaneo assolutamente unico! A mettergli i bastoni tra le ruote, l'enigmatica Mrs. Bradshaw, la rappresentante della North Stream Oil, Mr Gagnon, il responsabile della sicurezza della corporation, e un gruppetto di criminali che l'hanno seguito fin lì addirittura dal vecchio continente.
