Video/Audio source is from a WEB-DL that was only 720p.
Subs are sourced from kuchikirukia who got them from niizk. I edited them a bit to remove comma splices, add some line breaks, and insert some clarity into a few ambiguous lines. Added an English "Kino's Journey" logo to the title screen too.

It's better than the DVD in some areas, worse in others.
The DVD wins in bitrate (as noticeable in picture 3), but it's plagued by halos and its lower resolution.
Pick your poison, I guess.
The TV series/OVAs/Movie 1 are not available from the same source at anything above standard definition.
