Aprile 1942: gli U-Boote di Hitler hanno dichiarato guerra agli Stati Uniti. All'insaputa della popolazione americana, lungo la costa orientale del paese la flotta alleata subisce ingenti perdite. Incapace di decifrare i codici radio nemici, la marina statunitense tenta di resistere alla cieca ai furiosi attacchi tedeschi. Ambientato sullo sfondo della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, U-571 è il resoconto romanzato di un'audace missione per impossessarsi di un dispositivo di codificazione top secret che si trova all'interno di un sommergibile tedesco. La vicenda si ispira a una serie di complessi eventi che si verificarono nel corso della battaglia dell'Atlantico. Il film vuole ricordare tutti coloro i quali combatterono questa guerra.



April 1942: Hitler U-Boots declared war on the United States. Unbeknownst to the American population, along the east coast of the country, the allied fleet is heavily lost. Unable to decipher enemy radio codes, the US navy tries to resist blindly to the raging German attacks. Set in the background of World War II, the U-571 is the fictional story of a fussy mission to seize a top secret coding device that lies within a German submarine. The story is inspired by a series of complex events that occurred during the Atlantic Battle. The film wants to remember all those who fought this war.
