Deloris Van Cartier è l'esuberante solista di un trio musicale femminile in stile anni '60, The Ronelles (parodia delle Ronettes), che si esibisce al Moonlight Lounge a Reno, in Nevada. Il proprietario del casinò è l'amante di Deloris, Vince LaRocca, con il quale litiga puntualmente perché l'uomo, che è sposato, rifiuta di divorziare, nonostante continui a dirle di amarla davvero e di voler stare con lei; ciò che Deloris non sa è che Vince è anche un pericoloso boss criminale, coinvolto in ogni sorta di attività illegale.







Deloris Wilson, a black woman who has chosen the stage name Deloris Van Cartier, is a Reno lounge singer, she the lead in a girl trio in which she also chooses and arranges the music and choreographs the shows. She is a wisecracking, showy woman who has always loved music. She, however, only has her current job being hired by her married lover, Vince LaRocca, to sing in his casino's lounge.
