Urban fantasy. The series is best started with the prequel. From the author's web site: "This series is set in the same world as the Mercy Thompson Series, but on a slightly earlier time line."Please note: Each book in this series is a whole story with a beginning and an ending, however the plot of each book relies heavily on the prior books in the series. It is recommended that you read the full length novels in the order they were published. While most short stories aren't essential to the series, it is recommended you read "Alpha & Omega" before reading the first full length novel, "Cry Wolf".
