Shaman's Harvest:
Wikipedia:
Shaman's Harvest is an American rock band from Jefferson City, Missouri. Bassist Matt Fisher, singer Nathan "Drake" Hunt, and guitarist Josh Hamler founded the band in 1996. Ryan Tomlinson joined the band on lead guitar for their 2009 album Shine. Shaman's Harvest released their fifth full-length album titled Smokin' Hearts & Broken Guns on September 16, 2014. This release marked their debut on Mascot Records.
The band released three albums in their early years: Last Call for Goose Creek (1999), Synergy (2002), and March of the Bastards (2006). In 2009, the single "Dragonfly" reached #16 on Billboard's Active Rock chart, #9 at Heritage Rock, and #34 on Billboard's Rock Songs chart. The single sold over 130,000 copies and the album sold 33,000+ copies. The song appeared on the soundtrack of the motion picture Legendary.
In early 2010, Shaman's Harvest recorded "Broken Dreams" as the theme song for wrestler Drew McIntyre of the WWE. They continued that relationship, supplying "End of Days" as the entrance track for Wade Barrett and The Corre. They also created the promo song "And Then There Was Darkness" for Bray Wyatt and The Undertaker for their fight at Wrestlemania 31. Their song "Anger" appears in the feature film No One Lives.
During the recording of their album Smokin' Hearts & Broken Guns, Hunt was diagnosed with throat cancer and received treatment during the recording of the album. Lead guitarist Ryan Tomlinson left the group in September 2014 to concentrate on his band Driving Wheel. He was replaced by guitarist Derrick Shipp for the tour supporting Smokin' Hearts & Broken Guns. Joe Harrington joined on drums following the release of "Smokin' Hearts & Broken Guns". He left in August 2015 and Jeff Nations filled in before Adam Zemanek joined on drums in October 2015. Their latest album "Red Hands Black Deeds" was released on July 28, 2017.

Loudwire Review:
It’s a big summer for Shaman’s Harvest. Not only does the band have a full summer of touring with Nickelback on the horizon, they now have a new album to support as well. Red Hands Black Deeds was released by Mascot Records on July 28.
The band set up in the studio with producer Keith Armstrong with the intent of delivering a more organic disc while utilizing vintage gear. Singer Nathan Hunt says, “We used analog effects pedals and vintage amps. It was kind of like trying to find the melting point between Midwest and L.A. It still has the Shaman’s Harvest Midwest vibe to it, but it definitely has organic L.A. written all over it.” Guitarist Josh Hamler adds, “Goat toes are the new cowbells. We’d tell Keith we wanted a certain sound, and he’d pull stuff out that we never thought of, like the goat toes we used on ‘Blood Trophies’ and ‘A Longer View’ or sandpaper on ‘Scavengers.'”
Hamler adds, “We had been so stuck in our way of writing and recording, but Keith had a different, more interesting approach to coming up with that sound. He really helped us find a fresh new creative path.”
As for the lyrical content, the band broadened their subject matter, tackling political, social and economic topics and taking on a more national viewpoint. “Red Hands Black Deeds touches upon the darker nature inside all of us,” says Hunt. “The whole record has a contrast and push and pull tension – a juxtaposition of good and bad or questioning what is right and wrong. The record ended up having a concept, though we weren’t intending it to.”
The band is going with “The Come Up” as the lead single. The upbeat rocker juxtaposes a Motown backbeat with classic Rolling Stones rock and roll swagger and delves into the topic of depression. “There’s so much negativity on social media today – a lot of people struggling with real issues and with where we’re at as a nation,” says Hunt, who adds that the meaning is two-fold for him as he deals with his own depression.
“It’s therapeutic for myself,” he says. “It’s just about sometimes when you just can’t change s–t, you got to realize you can’t mold everything in your life and you kind of just have to roll with the punches.
Other key tracks on the album include “A Longer View,” “The Broken Ones” and “The Devil in Our Wake,” which deal with such topics as civil unrest, immigration issues and war.
