Jack Higgins is the pen name of Harry Patterson, who grew up in Belfast, Northern Island during the Troubles, and experienced things such as being caught in gunfire while riding a tram and being in a movie theater when it was bombed; although he escaped unharmed both times, the turmoil of his childhood later became a significant part of his novels.
He began writing in 1959; the success of his 1975 book, The Eagle Has Landed, allowed him to leave his job as a college professor to write full time. His books draw heavily from history and include prominent figures such as John Dillinger and often center around significant events from such conflicts as World War II, the Korean War, and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
If you're unfamiliar with Higgins' work, here's what Goodreads has to say about his first Sean Dillon novel, Eye of the Storm: "Former allies in the IRA, Sean Dillon and Martin Brosnam have chosen different paths. Now Dillon is a terrorist for hire, a master of disguise employed by Saddam Hussein. Brosnan is the one man who knows Dillon’s strengths and weaknesses...and brilliant mastery of espionage. Once friends, now enemies, they are playing the deadliest game of their careers. A game that culminates in a frightening--and true--event: Iraq’s attempted mortar attack on the British war cabinet at 10 Downing Street in February 1991."
Many of these books are already on the site, but this upload contains all of Higgins' books through his 2014 Sean Dillon novel, Rain on the Dead. All books are in EPUB format.
