Nel flashback dell'incidente di Bruce Banner si mostra lo scienziato che, assieme alla fidanzata Elizabeth Ross, studia per conto del governo americano l'utilizzo di un siero per creare un supersoldato. Per ottenere risultati più rapidi, prova la versione sperimentale del siero su se stesso. L'esperimento lo trasforma in un gigante verde, e senza rendersene conto ferisce sia Betty che suo padre, il generale della United States Armed Forces Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, per poi fuggire.

'The Incredible Hulk' tells the story of Dr Bruce Banner, who seeks a cure to his unique condition, which causes him to turn into a giant green monster under emotional stress. Whilst on the run from military which seeks his capture, Banner comes close to a cure. But all is lost when a new creature emerges; The Abomination.
