Somewhere in the future there is a computer project called Simulacron one of which is able to simulate a full featured reality, when suddenly project leader Henry Vollmer dies. His successor Dr. Fred Stiller experiences odd phenomena. A good friend, Guenther Lause, disappears in the middle of a conversation and a week later nobody has ever heard of him. And those fits of dizzyness - Stiller cannot believe himself to be fool. There has to be an explanation for all this. Could Simulacron have something to do with it?



Da qualche parte nel futuro si sta programmando la realizzazione di un computer chiamato "Simulacron" in grado di progettare una realtà virtuale ma Henry Vollmer, il capo progetto, muore all'improvviso. Al suo successore capitano strani fenomeni. Guenther Lause, un suo buon amico, sparisce sotto ai suoi occhi durante una conversazione e una settimana più tardi sembra che nessuno lo abbia mai conosciuto. Stiller comincia a dubitare della sua sanità mentale anche se è convinto che ci debba essere una ragione per questi strani avvenimenti. Sarà forse colpa del Simulacron?
