Deadlight: Director's Cut for PC, PS4 and XONE is a remastered version of a two-dimensional platformer Deadlight, by Tequila Works studio. New edition was developed by the same team and published by the Deep Silver. It was released in both digital and physical distribution.



Plot

Story of the game is set in a fictional past, in 1986. As a result of a mysterious virus, the world was turned into a place overrun by zombies. Player enacts Randall Wayne, who tries to reach a so-called safe point, where he hopes to meet up with his family and friends.



Mechanics

Deadlight: Director's Cut for PC, PS4 and XONE is a 2.5D platformer with strong emphasis on exploring subsequent locations, solving puzzles and figuring out how to deal with encountered zombies. This is because Randall rarely takes possession of firearms, which anyway lack ammunition most of the time. Therefore, we have to use an axe or other items we find. Moreover, the game features many arcade sequences, as well as environmental mini-puzzles, like moving boxes, that allow us to reach in other way inaccessible places.



Misc.

Compared to the original game, the title features improved visuals. Production supports 1080p, and developers took care of a set of new animations. In addition, Deadlight: Director's Cut for PC, PS4 and XONE features previously absent Survival Arena mode.
