My Blu-Ray rips are always taken DIRECTLY from the actual blu-rays, not re-encodings of an earlier h264 torrent, and not "filled in" with web downloads.

This is the entire series (both seasons) of of HBO's Rome from 2005-2007, taken directly from my Blu Ray box set.

I wished to upload material that can readily be used by the widest audience, so I chose h264, level 4.1 for the video. This should work on most devices. My aim was to create the best possible video, free from pixellation, and with a minimum level of artifacts, in a reasonable size for downloading.

I used x264.exe to create h264, level 4.1 video. All episodes were created using settings based on the "placebo" preset, which offers the highest quality encoding but slowest encode speed. I used a two pass variable bitrate encoding, bit with a maximum QP setting, to combat the tendancy of x264 to allocate too little bandwith for darker scenes.

A short sample is included (23 Mb, about 50 seconds) from the first episode; it features voilence; the series contains a lot of that, and a fair bit of nudity, so be aware.

This is an early blu ray and in some parts it shows; for example, the slight pixellation on the hair of the crucified Gaul prisoner (see the sample) is present in the original blu ray file!

The audio is AAC 5.1 at 384kbps

Finally, the English, Français and Español subtitles are included (soft coded). The SRT files are also included.
