In 2008 a very important step towards a better torrent scene was taken. The idea was simple...Delete all Fake Torrents and Verify all Real ones on a massive scale with no need for human verification.The idea went into action on the 15th of March 2008 when some torrent site owners decided to start coding somethingthat would change the face of the torrent scene as we know it. Six months later the Beta version was launched onhis site and the rest as they say... was history.

Now fast forward a year later to end of 2009 and after 505731 Fakes deleted and 90543 Verified the Beta Stagewas finally complete. All that was left now was to see how accurate the code was and how to fine tune it so thatit could be used on a permanent basis. The results came in and it indicated that it had a success rate of 89% deletingfake torrents and 94% for accepting real torrents. The results even stunned the creator... so the obvious question was,how to put this in program form so that it could be used with the various forms of torrent sites?

Well... In February of 2010 the creator finally got it right and VeriPLUS was born. After another 4 months of testingthe fist edition was launched and is now ready to change all spectrums of the Torrent Scene forever.



Obviously the finer details in the technology cannot be revealed as the creators spent over 1200 hours to perfect VeriPLUSin the form and package you see before you... It was a culmination of hard work and a struck of genius that enabled him to get itwhere it is today. The following can be said about the technology of veriPLUS:

• The Infohash plays a pivotal part in the verification process, the status of the torrent on other verified source sites are compared and the program runs various sums with the code of that INFOHASH against the backdrop of the file itself to see whether it is fake or real.
  
• 93% of Fake Torrents have a unique code that runs in the script of the file. VeriPLUS can pick up on that code and delete the file if the signs of a Fake Script is there.
  
• If the above methods fail then veriPLUS has a final solution that is 89% accurate. It downloads a very small segment of the filein question and based on the downloaded segment VERIPLUS can see whether it is a real or Fake Torrent.
  
• Verified Torrents from other sources also go through the 3 steps mentioned above and if it is infact Fake then the intergrated script sees the signs of a Fake Torrent and removes the status of the torrent from verified to Fake in case other sites want to see how many of their "Verified" Torrents are in actual fact Fake.

Why is VeriPLUS better than other verification methods (like voting-verification and manual verification)?

To put it simply the following are reasons why VeriPLUS is better than any other verification method:

• No manual verifying is required in this process, everything is automated.
  
• It is the fastest way of verifying a torrent.
  
• No human error or trickery is involved (people accidentaly verifying fakes or people lying to seed fakes).
  
• It can verify hundreds of torrents in a matter of seconds.
  
• It will under no circumstances verify a fake torrent, if uncertain it marks the torrent as unknown and can be run at a later stage when updates for fake patterns are released.
  

Does VeriPLUS affect the download speeds in BitTorrent seeing that VeriPLUS downloads everything?

Not at all, in actual fact it will indirectly save you alot of time by preventing you from downloading fakes.As mentioned before, VeriPLUS downloads a very small part of the file in order to run certain processes on itto see if it has the patterns of the various fakes out there. If it does, then it automatically marks it as fake anddeletes the file if you chose that option.

What sites offer VeriPLUS?

Currently only TorLock has implemented the full VeriPLUS program. Other torrent sites have shown their interest but haven't fully adopted VeriPLUS yet.
